Description: This year's Ralph G. Brindis Keynote speaker, Douglas B. Fridsma, MD, PhD, FACP, FACMI, tackles the barriers and opportunities for streamlining data capture.  New technologies and trends will be discussed, and an outline for future data interoperability will be posed.

Objectives:
At the end of this session, attendees will be able to:

  1. Discuss opportunities to optimize clinical workflow and capture of NCDR data.
  2. Discuss technology trends that will enhance the end-user experience and improve data capture interoperability.
  3. Identify at least two steps healthcare providers should take to prepare for new interoperability technologies.
