About ACC Accreditation
The American College of Cardiology’s (ACC) Accreditation Programs offer hospitals and facilities a suite of comprehensive quality improvement solutions that combine accreditation and ACC’s registry services, quality initiatives and education.

In January 2016, the ACC merged with the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC) to establish a comprehensive suite of cardiovascular quality improvement solutions for hospitals and facilities with the goal of improving cardiovascular patient care.

It has been proven that accreditation improves clinical processes, enhances quality, reduces costs and increases patient satisfaction by:

  • Operationalizing the guidelines
  • Emphasizing standardized diagnostic and treatment programs
  • Providing more efficient and effective evaluation
  • Assisting rapid treatment of patients with chest pain and other heart attack symptoms
  • Providing education for healthcare professionals and the community
  • Reducing the risk factors for heart attack
  • Bridging existing gaps in treatment by providing tools, education and support
